Netware Version The version of NetWare the server is using. File Server Information Help 2 of 5 System Fault Tolerance (v2.10 and above) The level of SFT on the server. Transaction Tracking Shows whether the server supports TTS (Transaction Tracking System) recovery for database files.U File Server Information Help 3 of 5 Connections Supported The maximum number of users that can log at one time. Connections in Use The number of users logged in. Volumes Supported The maximum number of disk volumes the server can support.o File Server Information Help 4 of 5 Network Address The address of the network on which the server is located. Node Address The address of the node where the server resides. File Server Information Help 5 of 5 If you are a Supervisor on this server, you see the following: Serial Number The application number of the server. Application Number The serial number of some network applications. Contact your reseller for more information. User Names Help 1 of 1 These are users on the server. For information about a user, highlight the user's name and press . With Supervisor rights, you can Add a user. Remove a user. Modify Rename a user. Mark Change some information for several users at the same time. Use to mark each user you want changed, then press . Delete User Help 1 of 1 To delete this user, select Yes.* User Information Help 1 of 6 This is the information about this user. A brief description of each option follows. The options that appear depend on the rights you have, the user you are examining, and the features the server supports. Account Balance Shows the user's account balance and credit limit. User Information Help 2 of 6 Account Restrictions Shows restrictions on the user's account. Change Password Allows you to change your password. Full Name Shows the user's full name. User Information Help 3 of 6 Groups Belonged To Lists the groups the user belongs to. Intruder Lockout Status Shows the intruder lockout status for this user's account. Login Script Lets you view and edit the user's login script. User Information Help 4 of 6 Managed Users and Groups Shows users and groups the user manages. Managers Shows the user's managers. Other Information Shows the last time the user logged in, the amount of disk space the user is using, the user's bindery ID number, etc. User Information Help 5 of 6 Security Equivalences Lists users and groups that the selected user is security equivalent to. Station Restrictions Shows what network addresses the user can log in from. Time Restrictions Shows the times the user can log in. User Information Help 6 of 6 Trustee Directory Assignments Lists directories where the user's trustee rights have been granted or revoked. Trustee File Assignments (3.x) Lists files where the user's trustee rights have been granted or revoked. Volume/Disk Restrictions Lists disk space restrictions for a volume. Workgroup Managers Help 1 of 1 These users are workgroup managers. With Supervisor rights, you can Add users to the list Remove users from the list Supervisor Options Help 1 of 5 Supervisor options depend on the features of your system. They are available only to users with Supervisor rights. The system default is set so accounts have no expiration date, connection limitations, password restrictions, or disk space limitations. An explanation of these options follows. Supervisor Options Help 2 of 5 Default Account Balance/Restrictions Lets you view and change new user security restrictions and accounting defaults. Default Time Restrictions Lets you view and change the default time restrictions for new users. Edit System AUTOEXEC File Lets you edit the system AUTOEXEC file. Supervisor Options Help 3 of 5 Edit System SERVER.CFG File (2.x servers) Lets you edit the system SERVER.CFG file. File Server Console Operators Lets you view and modify the list of users and groups authorized to run the file server console from a station. Supervisor Options Help 4 of 5 Intruder Detection/Lockout Lets you see if intruder detection is activated. Also lets you specify criteria for detecting and dealing with intruders. System Login Script Lets you view and change the system login script. Supervisor Options Help 5 of 5 View File Server Error Log Lets you view the errors that are recorded and clear the error log. Workgroup Managers Lets you view, add, and delete workgroup managers. {) Accounting Help 1 of 3 These are accounting options. With Supervisor rights you can change the information. Accounting Servers Shows servers that charge for services. Blocks Read Charge Rates Shows if the server is charging for data read and the rate being charged. Accounting Help 2 of 3 Blocks Written Charge Rates Shows if the server is charging for writing blocks of information to disk and the rate being charged. Connect Time Charge Rates Shows if the server is charging for the amount of time that users are connected to it. Shows the rate being charged. Accounting Help 3 of 3 Disk Storage Charge Rates Shows if the server is charging for the amount of data stored on its disk drives. Shows the rate charged. Service Requests Charge Rates Shows if the server is charging for the number of requests sent to it from a station. Shows the rate charged. Select Account Server Type Help 1 of 1 To authorize a server to charge for services, select the servername. Full Name Help 1 of 1 Type the full name of the user or group; then press . If the user or group already has a full name, use to delete it; then type the new name. To cancel changes, press Cancel . Insert New User Name Help 1 of 1 Enter the name of the new user. Rename Existing User Help 1 of 1 To rename a user, delete the user's old name; then type the new name and press . View User's Full Name Help 1 of 1 This is the full name of the user or group. Other Information Help 1 of 3 This is other information about this user or group: Last Login The last date the user logged in. Appears only when you are getting information about a user. If the user has never logged in, "Unknown" appears. Other Information Help 2 of 3 File Server Console Operator Shows if the user or group can perform file server console functions from a station. Appears if your NetWare version supports file server console features. User ID (or Group ID) The bindery ID number of the user or group. Other Information Help 3 of 3 Maximum Disk Space The maximum amount of disk space that the user can use, in kilobytes. If the user has no maximum, "Unrestricted" appears. Disk Space in Use The amount of disk space being used by files owned by the user, in kilobytes. Set User Information Help 1 of 2 You can change information for users that are marked. The options are described below. Account Balance Lets you change the account balance and credit limit. Account Restrictions Lets you change the account restrictions. Set User Information Help 2 of 2 Station Restrictions Lets you specify what stations the users can log in to. Time Restrictions Lets you change the times of the week when users can log in. Confirm Logout From Server Help 1 of 1 To log out from this server, select Yes. Charge Rate Help 1 of 1 Select the charge rate you want to apply during the selected time period. If the charge rate you want is not shown, select the "Other Charge Rate." If you do not want to change the charge rate, press . Login Time Must Be Allowed Help 1 of 1 You can set time restrictions so the user can't log in. Use an asterisk (*) to mark the time when the user can log in. If you don't want the user to log in, disable the account. No Station Restrictions Help 1 of 1 This account has no station restrictions. This user can log in from any station. Only the Supervisor can restrict what stations a user can log in from. Station Restrictions Help 1 of 1 These are network addresses where the user can log in. Addresses are shown as a network number and a node number. If the list is empty, the user can log in from any station. You can also allow the user to log in from any node on a specified network. Invalid Network Address Help 1 of 1 You entered a bad network address. Check the address of the station you want this user to log in from and enter the correct address. Use a network address between 1 and FFFFFFFE. Security Equivalences Help 1 of 1 These are users and groups this user is security equivalent to. Other Users and Groups Help 1 of 1 These are users and groups this user is not security equivalent to. To make the user security equivalent to a user or group, highlight the user or group and press . To make the user security equivalent to more than one user or group, mark the users with Mark ; then press . User Membership Information Help 1 of 1 These are the groups this user belongs to. Other Groups Help 1 of 1 These are groups that the current user is not a member of. To add the user to a group, highlight the group and press . To add the user to several groups, mark the groups using Mark key, then press . Directory Assignments Help 1 of 1 These are directories where the user's or group's trustee rights have been granted or revoked. (Trustee rights extend to each subdirectory of the directory in which they are declared, unless they are changed in the subdirectory.) Granted Trustee Rights Help 1 of 1 These rights are granted to the user or group in this directory or file. You can: Grant additional rights Revoke the highlighted right. To revoke several rights, mark each using and press . Other Trustee Rights Help 1 of 1 These rights have not been granted to the user or group in this directory or file. To grant a right, select the right and press . All Nodes Are Allowed Help 1 of 1 You already specified that the user can log in from all nodes on this network. To limit the user to specific nodes, delete the entry that allows all nodes, or specify the other network's address where the user is to be limited. Existing Subdirectories Help 1 of 1 These are the subdirectories of the volume or directory you have specified. Select the subdirectory that is part of the path leading to the directory where you want to make the user or group a trustee. Then press . Duplicate Station Restriction Help 1 of 1 The address you entered is already in the list of addresses that the user can log in from. You cannot enter the same address in the list more than once. Group Names Help 1 of 1 These are groups on the server. For information about a group, select it. With Supervisor rights, you can Add a new group. Delete the highlighted group. Modify Rename the highlighted group. New Group Name Help 1 of 1 Enter the name of the group you want to create. Group Name Help 1 of 1 To replace the group name, delete the group's old name, type a new name and press . Group Information Help 1 of 4 This is information about the selected group. The options are described below. Full Name Displays the group's full name. Member List Lists the users that belong to this group. Group Information Help 2 of 4 These options appear if you belong to the group or have Supervisor rights on the server. Managed Users And Groups Shows the users and groups that this group is an account manager for. Managers Shows the users and groups that manage this group. Group Information Help 3 of 4 Other Information Shows the group ID number. If the server supports virtual console features, shows whether the group has console operator rights. Trustee Directory Assignments Lists the trustee rights the group has in directories on the server. Group Information Help 4 of 4 Trustee File Assignments (3.x servers only) Lists trustee rights the group has for files in this directory. Existing Members Help 1 of 1 These are the users that belong to this group. Other Users Help 1 of 1 These users are not members of the group. To add a user, highlight the user and press . To add more than one user, mark each using Mark , then press . Delete Group Help 1 of 1 To delete the highlighted groups from this server, select Yes. Delete User Help 1 of 1 To remove the highlighted users from the selected group, answer Yes. Delete Trustee From Directory Help 1 of 1 To delete this trustee from the directory, select Yes. When a trustee is deleted from a directory, the trustee's rights revert to the rights the trustee has in the parent directory. If no trustee rights are in the parent directory, the trustee no longer has rights. Delete User from Group Help 1 of 1 To delete the user from these groups, select Yes. Delete Security Equivalences Help 1 of 1 To delete the user's security equivalences to the highlighted users and groups, select Yes. Bad Node Address Help 1 of 1 You entered a bad node address. Check the address of the station you want this user to log in from and enter that address. Use a node address between 0 and FFFFFFFFFFFE.3\ Supervisor Station Restriction Help 1 of 2 Station restrictions are enforced on the SUPERVISOR account. If you list invalid addresses where the Supervisor can log in, the Supervisor can never log in again. To help prevent you from making this mistake, SYSCON checks to see that you can log in from the station you are on right now. Supervisor Station Restriction Help 2 of 2 Check the addresses you entered to make sure they are correct. If they are not, delete the incorrect entries and re-enter them. If they are correct but this station is not included, either delete all the entries or add this station temporarily; then go to one of the stations you want the supervisor to log in from and correct the list. Full Name Help 1 of 1 No full name has been defined for this user or group. (Only the supervisor can define a full name.) User Already Exists Help 1 of 1 A user by that name already exists. Each user must have a unique name. Cannot Delete SUPERVISOR Help 1 of 1 User SUPERVISOR cannot be deleted. Cannot Rename SUPERVISOR Help 1 of 1 User SUPERVISOR cannot be renamed. Log In to Server Help 1 of 1 Your station is already attached to eight servers. (A station cannot be attached to more than eight servers at a time.) You must log out of a server before you can log in to another. Accounting Not Supported Help 1 of 1 The version of NetWare running on this server doesn't support accounting. To use accounting, upgrade to a version that supports accounting. Wrong Accounting Version Help 1 of 1 This version of SYSCON doesn't support the version of accounting running on this server. You have probably run an incorrect version of SYSCON. Run the version of SYSCON that came with your file server software. Accounting Not Installed Help 1 of 1 Accounting has not been installed on this server. You need Supervisor rights to install accounting. File Server Cannot Charge Help 1 of 1 The server is no longer enabled to charge for file service or disk storage service. To enable the server to charge for services, select "Accounting Servers" and press . User Is Already a Trustee Help 1 of 1 You cannot add the user or group as a trustee in the directory. It is already a trustee. To change the user or group's trustee rights in the directory, return to the "Trustee Directory Assignments" screen. Select the directory where the user or group is a trustee and press Modify , then press or to add or change existing rights. Volume Does Not Exist Help 1 of 1 The trustee wasn't added. A nonexistent volume was specified in the directory path. To list the server's volumes, use to erase the directory path, then press and select a volume. Add Trustee Help 1 of 1 You entered an incorrect directory path. A directory path consists of a volume name, a colon, and a list of directory names. Press to list all subdirectories of the path you entered. Directory names must be separated by a slash (/) or a backslash (\) and can be 14 characters long. Create New User Help 1 of 1 When users are created, they are normally added to group EVERYONE. An error occurred when the system tried to add the user to group EVERYONE. SYSCON knows about server accounts for Job Servers, Gateways, Print Servers, Archive Servers, SNA Gateways, and Remote Bridges. More than 20 Charges Changes Help 1 of 1 You have more than 20 charge rate entries. Consolidate rate changes so you don't have more than 20 entries. One entry can change the rate for one or more days. Also, each time of the day that a rate change occurs uses at least one entry. More Than 20 Disk Charge Entries Help 1 of 1 You have more than 20 disk charge entries. Consolidate the times and rates charged for disk storage so that it does not take more than 20 entries to store the charge times. One entry can change the rate for one or more days. No Errors in Log File Help 1 of 1 No errors have been recorded in the server error log file since the last time the error log was cleared. File Server Console Operators Help 1 of 1 These users and groups are allowed to run the file server console from any station they are logged in at. Use and to edit the list. Users that are security equivalent to a user or group in this list can also run the console from any station. Delete Console Operator Help 1 of 1 To revoke the selected user's or group's rights to run the virtual console from a station, select Yes. Add File Server Console Operator Help 1 of 1 These users and groups have not been granted the right to run the file server console from a station. To give a user or group this right, select a user or group name. Delete Restrictions Help 1 of 1 To remove highlighted stations from the list of addresses where this user can log in, select Yes. Deleting all addresses from the list allows the user to log in from any address. Remove Accounting Server Help 1 of 1 To revoke the marked servers' right to charge for services, select Yes. To allow the servers to continue to charge, press . Connect Charge Rates Help 1 of 1 This shows how much the server charges for each minute of connect time (time a user is logged in). The charge is shown in half-hour increments. Connect Charge Rates Help 1 of 1 This shows how much the server charges for each minute of connect time (time a user is logged in). To change the charge, highlight the half-hour and press . To change the charge during a larger time period, block the time using Mark , then press . If there is no charge, select "No Charge." Disk Storage Charge Rates Help 1 of 1 This shows how much the server charges for each block stored on disk for one day. The time when disk storage is charged for is shown, as well as the amount charged per block-day. The server charges for all disk storage since the last time that disk storage was charged for. Disk Storage Charge Rates Help 1 of 2 This shows how much the server charges for each block stored on disk for one day. To specify a charge time, highlight the half-hour and press . To specify a charge time for a longer period, block the time using Mark , then press . If there is no charge, select "No Charge."
